MakeLab was founded three years ago when the company took eight 3D printers to a Toronto bar and taught design until last call. Since then, the Studio has grown quickly and become well-known for their bespoke interactive activations.
Cutting-edge technologies that seldom leave a lab like laser cutters, light tables, heat preses, edible photo booths, and 3D printers are utilized in inventive ways that spark wonder and creativity in unexpected places around the world.
Start-up Life means wearing many hats… and many hats did I wear at MakeLab. In addition to producing and executing our event interactives around the world and managing studio life, I orchestrated large-scale production for brands, lent a hand with designing assets for clients, sent our lasers to the doctors when they felt poorly, and jumped on-site for new tech (which is how I learned to use an embroidery machine!).
